            Celtic Art Award 2011

An initiative of the Westbury St Patrick’s Festival since 2006, Tasmanian Artists (16+ years) are invited to submit works to the Celtic Art Award. Entries should be an original piece of visual art based on traditional Celtic symbols or imagery presented in either a figurative or abstract style. EXAMPLES OF ENTRIES

The Celtic Art Award is an annual visual arts event open to all Tasmanian Artists.  It explores the Celtic links that Tasmania has richly woven though its European settlement history.  The Celtic Art Award is an important element of the Westbury St Patrick’s Festival and the Celtic inspired visual art complements the Celtic music and dance that is the mainstay of this iconic Festival

The CAA Award is judged on the Friday afternoon and the various prizes (see "Why should you enter" below) are announced at an Award Presentation cocktail party 6 -7:30pm on Friday evening. All artists are invited to attend along with our Festival Performers, Festival Sponsors and other Friends of the Festival.

On the Saturday (St Pat's Parade & Festival Day) over 1,000 of the Festival Day attendees visit the Celtic Art Award between 11am and 4 pm. After viewing the exhibition they can vote for the Peoples' Choice Award winner. The winners is then announced on the main Festival stage later that afternoon.

Full details of the conditions of entry can be found here ENTRY CONDITIONS & FORM or call Harriet on 6393 2688.
