The Giant Pumpkins
Every year the Westbury St Patrick's Festival holds its Giant Pumpkin competition.
The competition between the Giant Pumpkin growers is traditional!
The students and teachers at the Westbury Primary School are an integral part of this competition – and in 2010 contest is on in ernest as local veggie gardeners take up the challenge.
The 2009 winner was Mark Sheldon with first and second place. A couple of whoppers!
Plant those pumpkins and watch them grow.
We plant usually in November after the frosts - so keep a patch of the garden free.
